In recent years, business class has been booming. Airlines are fighting to offer the best and highest quality lie-flat products. However, British Airways’ decision to retire the Boeing 747 and replace it with smaller twin-jets for widebody long-haul flying has led to a substantial reduction in the number of business class seats available. While the British Airways 747 had 86 business class seats, the carrier’s Airbus A350-1000 has 56 within a three-class configuration of 331 seats.
