Having begun development of the Airbus A380 back in the early 1990s, the manufacturer sought to market an aircraft that would solve the issue of growing demand around a finite number of hub airports. Simply put, the A380 would allow airlines to move greater numbers of people via each movement, in turn reducing congestion.
