Private equity firm Stonepeak adds Texas railyard to its logistics catalog

The private equity firm Stonepeak made another addition this week to its collection of logistics infrastructure facilities, revealing that it had acquired an 860,100-square foot, rail-served freight site in Fort Worth, Texas.

Earlier this month, New York-based Stonepeak poured $2.4 billion into a joint venture with maritime shipping giant CMA CGM Group to modernize ocean container cargo terminals, including nine CMA CGM-operated port terminals in the United States, Brazil, Spain, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

Before that, the firm said in 2025 that it had acquired two logistics sites totaling 748,000 square feet in Fort Worth, a move which brough its acquisition total in the past year to 7.7 million square feet of logistics assets anchored by transport infrastructure in certain submarkets of Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Jacksonville, and Chicago. And in 2023, Stonepeak paid $1.2 billion to buy up the Canadian marine transportation provider Logistec Corp.

Now the latest deal adds to that broad catalog with a freight facility in Dallas-Fort Worth that is anchored by two Class I rail lines, the BNSF Alliance intermodal terminal, and the Fort Worth Alliance cargo airport, with direct access to the I-35 “NAFTA highway” linking Mexico to Canada.

“Stonepeak invests in the supply chain from producer to consumer. Real estate anchored by transportation infrastructure is a critical link in the supply chain,” said Phill Solomond, Senior Managing Director and Head of Real Estate at Stonepeak.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
