Why Delta Air Lines Chose Atlanta Over New York-JFK To Anchor Its New Middle East Strategy

Delta Air Lines is slowly ramping up its service to the Middle East as stability returns to the region after air warfare ceased between the US, Israel, and Iran. Service has not yet been restored to Tel Aviv (TLV), but later this year Riyadh Airport (RUH) will see the first nonstop service from a US-based carrier to Saudi Arabia. Notably, however, Delta has chosen to use its Mega Hub at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) as the Stateside anchor points for these routes instead of John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
