The Boeing 737 MAX is an aircraft with a rather troubled history, yet one that continues to prove itself as a perfect option for many carriers around the world today. It would only be natural to believe that the FAA rubber-stamps every MAX that heads out of the production line. Well, since September 2025, the FAA isn’t even the entity signing most of those certificates anymore. Boeing is doing it on alternating weeks under a restored ODA delegation. Even with documented manufacturing quality-control issues at Boeing’s 737 MAX production lines, every newly built MAX still receives an airworthiness certificate before delivery.
